My dad came in from North Carolina to visit us over the long weekend and while the trip here wasn't the smoothest, we hope he thinks it was worth it! Sometime last year, Brody started calling him "BeeBop" and my dad has taken to it quite nicely. Ella was very interested in his mustache and her BeeBop tried his hardest to teach her to 'lean in' for kisses, but she mostly just stared at his mustache (see below). Saturday we took in a Nashville Sounds vs. Iowa Cubs game and had I known how much he was going to smack talk the home team, we might have not gone :)! Sunday he helped Jim with a little yard work, as Jim's shoulder is still not at 100% following his rotator cuff surgery back in March. It was a wonderfully low key weekend, and I took a few snapshots right before BeeBop left. I also thought this post to be particularly meaningful today, Memorial Day, in celebration of the nearly 20 years my dad served our country as a United States Marine. As you can see...15 years later, he is still enjoying getting to grow his hair out. So here are just a couple of pictures of my dad, Joseph Adrian, with his youngest grandchild (and only granddaughter so far!), Ella Adrian, and his grandson, Brody! Still funny to think of my dad as a grandpa!
